Unable to retrieve a GRID vGPU licence
Hello all, We just recently bought licenses, and in my test environment the NVIDIA-control panel gives us the error that it can't retrieve licences (see attachment). We bought 275 Grid virtual apps licences, as we were told these are the right ones for our purpose. They are imported in the NVIDIA License Manager and they show them as correct. In our VMware environment I've used the grid_m10-4q profile, which has always worked with the trial license. Our environment: Citrix XenApp 7.14 VMWare vSphere 6.5 NVIDIA Grid Tesla M10 The VDI is based on Windows Server 2012 R2
Hello all,

We bought 275 Grid virtual apps licences, as we were told these are the right ones for our purpose. They are imported in the NVIDIA License Manager and they show them as correct.

In our VMware environment I've used the grid_m10-4q profile, which has always worked with the trial license.

Our environment:
Citrix XenApp 7.14
VMWare vSphere 6.5
NVIDIA Grid Tesla M10
The VDI is based on Windows Server 2012 R2

Hi Dennis, that won't work. vApps licenses are A profiles. You are attempting to use a Q profile. You need to change the vGPU profile to M10-8A for example. You bought the correct licenses but you use the wrong profile. Regards Simon

Hi Simon, Thank you for your reply. I tried to edit one of our test servers (while the rest is still running on the Q profile) and I get the following error: "The amount of graphics resource available in the parent resource pool is insufficient for the operation." If I check nvidia-smi: +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | NVIDIA-SMI 384.111 Driver Version: 384.111 | |-------------------------------+----------------------+----------------------+ | GPU Name Persistence-M| Bus-Id Disp.A | Volatile Uncorr. You cannot mixup Q and A profiles. Therefore you get the message that there are no ressources available.

Thanks! That did the trick, after resetting all the profiles to A profiles it works including the licensing.
